MoTeC LTC Lambda to CAN Controller
The MoTeC LTC module converts wideband lambda readings from a Bosch LSU 4.9 or NTK sensor into CAN bus data easily readable by ECUs, data loggers, or display systems.
It supports up to 32 LTC units on a single CAN bus, allowing a single ECU or logger to monitor and log multiple lambda sensors simultaneously.
Key Features:
High-precision lambda measurement, even during rapid exhaust temperature changes.
Flexible calibration options: factory preset, free-air calibration, or referenced-gas calibration (for NTK versions).
Pre-configured for standalone use; adjustable via LTC Manager software when using multiple units.
Compatibility:
Compatible with Bosch LSU 4.9 and NTK 5-wire lambda sensors.
Fully compatible with MoTeC’s 'Hundred Series' and M1-series ECUs, plus display loggers (e.g., C Series, ADL, SDL, ACL, CDL-series).
Specifications:
Supply Voltage: 11–16 V
Current Draw: ~110 mA plus sensor heater (heater draws ~0.5–1 A, up to 2 A at startup)
Communications: 1 CAN channel (1 Mbps default), configurable to 125/250/500 kbps via LTC Manager
Connectors: 4-pin DTM (Power & CAN) + Lambda sensor connector
Software & Configuration:
LTC Manager is used for multi-unit calibration, diagnostics, CAN ID assignment, free-air calibration, and firmware updates.
Connect via a MoTeC gateway (e.g. UTC) or compatible ECU/logger for configuration.
Installation:
Mount away from heat sources; max ambient temperature is 100 °C.
Recommended sensor installation tip: fitting at 10–90° downwards and at least 1 m from exhaust openings to avoid condensation and heat soak.
General Info:
Available in dual-channel LTCD variants as needed.
Supports “CAN Collect” to consolidate data from up to 16 LTCs into one template for loggers.
