MoTeC PLM Professional Lambda Meter
This robust Professional Lambda Meter accurately measures air–fuel ratio (Lambda) across a wide spectrum of engine conditions, delivering fast response and precise readings ideal for both motorsport tuning and emissions development.
Key Features:
Fast, accurate Lambda measurement from 0.7 to 32.0, equating to AFR of ~10.3 to 470 for gasoline, and supports petrol, alcohol, gas, diesel, or user-defined blends.
Ease of use with fully featured configuration software—quick standalone setup, or fully custom calibrations via PLM Setup.
Offers differential analog output (–4.8 V to +5 V) that can be mapped linearly or non-linearly to Lambda, AFR, or equivalence ratio.
Built-in diagnostics with CAN (up to 1 Mbps) and RS232 data links for integration with MoTeC systems like ADLs, loggers, and ECUs.
Enhanced precision with multiple calibration methods: auto using sensor resistor, manual table entry, and known-gas or lambda calibration—with ability to compensate for sensor aging.
Technical Specifications:
Sensor: Compatibility Bosch LSU and NTK UEGO 5-wire sensors
Display: 3.5-digit LCD (12.7 mm height) with green LED backlight; customizable resolution, refresh rate, filtering, and brightness
Heater Output: Up to 8 A sensor heater via PID control or constant voltage; heater must draw significant starting current
Power Supply: 7–16 V input, 60 mA typical draw (110 mA with backlight on), with reverse polarity and load-dump protection
Connectivity: Two 9-pin D-sub connectors; one for power/sensor wiring, one for RS232/CAN/data output
CPU & Memory: Motorola 68HC908AZ60 at 8 MHz, 60 KB flash memory, includes 1 KB EEPROM for user data
Dimensions & Weight: Approx. 105 × 41 × 25 mm (excluding connector); ∼135 g with rugged aluminium housing
Operating Range: –10 °C to 70 °C ambient; supports harsh environments commonly found in engine bays
Accuracy: ±1.5% Lambda
Software & Configuration:
PLM Setup Software enables full setup, calibration, CAN mapping, and firmware updates via RS232. Supports advanced configurations including CAN Collect when using multiple PLMs on one bus.
Installation & Integration:
Quick installation with auto sensor recognition; LCD displays status codes during start-up, and any faults or warm-up phases.
Ideal for engine tuning; provides tuning professionals precise, real-time feedback on mixture strength.
Supports multi-unit configurations: up to 16 PLMs can share CAN via CAN Collect for centralized logging.
